Reach Foundation & BlackRock Partnership


“Every young Australian has the support and self-belief to fulfill their potential and dare to dream”.

BlackRock is one of the Reach Foundation’s Major Partners. Our successful partnership provides many forms of support to the Reach community. BlackRock staff members support Reach through volunteering at their programs, attending events and also by experiencing workshops.

The partnership also focuses on sponsorship of the Reach Breakfast with the Stars event in November.


  
BlackRock Sponsored Programs include:

  • Camp Maasai - For 25 young people and 25 business leaders with an opportunity to attain new levels of understanding, of themselves and each other.
  • Leadership Workshops - Inspire the next generation of young leaders in communities around Australia.
  • BlackRock sponsored Heroes Days Melbourne - For up to 500 year 9 students providing a genuine chance for young people to be heard.
  • Fused Workshops & Weekends - For 13 -18 year olds interactive workshops designed to connect teenagers.
  • Reach Breakfast with the Stars - Event for the corporate community to learn about Reach and their work with young people.

Background
The Reach Foundation (Reach), a Victorian based non-profit organisation, was established in 1994 by Jim Stynes (AFL Brownlow Medalist, youth motivator, and Victorian of the Year 2003) and Paul Currie (drama coach and film director).

By creating “safe spaces” and a positive peer group experience for young people, Reach provides an environment where they can develop trust and openness, where they feel comfortable enough to express their concerns, to discuss their aspirations and to recognise that they are not alone.
